Abstract

In 2016 summer, I worked on studying of the composition of dross formed on SLM specimens as well as the effects of supporting structures on dross formation.  Although high oxygen level is found on the dross surface, the actual oxide layer is thin.

In fall 2016, I'm working on printing different metallic powder, like 316 stainless steel powder, Titanium alloy powder and HEA (high entropy alloy) powder, using Concept Laser 3D printer machine. I also did XRD, SEM, Micro hardness test, and PALS (positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy) analysis for the samples printed.

I will work on HEA powder printing in the future, spring 2017.
